2018 Supreme Yellow Nan Goldin Tee

Spring/Summer 2018 Supreme Nan Goldin Tee in yellow colourway.

This piece comes from a 2018 collaboration between Supreme and the famous photographer Nancy Goldin. This specific piece featurs a picture taken by Goldin in 1991 named “Misty and Jimmy Paulette in a Taxi, NYC”. The image depicts two drag queens in the early 90’s New York. 

Nan was quoted saying the following about this work : “I was eighteen and felt like I was a queen too … they became my whole world. Part of my worship of them involved photographing them. I wanted to pay
homage, to show them how beautiful they were. I never saw them as men dressing
up as women, but as something entirely different - a third gender that made more
sense than either of the other two. I accepted them as they saw themselves; I had
no desire to unmask them with my camera.”

Supreme released a small collection with Nan Goldin in SS18. As expected it instantly sold out.
