2007 Supreme Illegal Business Controls America Black Zip Up Hoodie
Illegal Business Controls America : On May 8th 2003, Igor Kotlyar was arrested by the FBI on a 51-count indictment involving conspiracy and wire and mail fraud. During the arrest, the fraudulent stockbroker was coincidentally wearing a Supreme box logo tee. Supreme used the image on a t-shirt and added the words “Illegal Business Controls America” on the back. This t-shirt sparked controversy and exemplifies the rebellious anti corporate identity of the New York skate brand. Four years later Supreme would go on to use this same phrase on a zip up hoodie design. Supreme turned a potentially damaging incident around and made it into an iconic piece of museum worthy streetwear.
