Stone Island is an Italian Fashion brand founded by Massimo Osti in 1982.

The brand named after Joseph Conrad novels established itself early on by introducing new materials and techniques like the heavily-stonewashed, tarpaulin-like fabric called Tela Stella. This quality set the standard for Stone Island moving forward. Other innovative designs such as the 'Ice Jacket', a color changing technology based on temperature thanks to liquid crystal coating and the 'Reflective Jacket', featuring a thin layer of glass to a waterproof fabric reflecting bright and dim light were groundbreaking innovations at the time. Stone Island emerged as a premium fashion brand - particularly amongst football fans. Therefore the brand is often times associated with a terrace casual style and hooliganism. In the last few years Stone Island reached a new level of popularity and is known worldwide. Collaborations with the New York skatebrand Supreme and co-signs by Drake, Travis Scott and many other influential figures has helped Stone Island reach the status it is at now.
