Vlone is a brand founded by A$AP Bari in Harlem, New York in 2011.
Harlem is known as the home of many influential fashion figures such as A$AP Rocky and the entire A$AP Mob collective. In the following years Vlone would develop into a well known streetwear brand often times worn by famous artists like A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert and many more.
Vlone"s slogan "Live Vlone Die Vlone" is inspired by American psychological thriller Donnie Darko. In a scene where Donnie is chatting with a woman, he’s telling her something someone once said about life - “every living thing dies alone.” This philosophy is maintained throughout the brands design and style. In 2017 Vlone worked together with Nike on what is considered the brands most prestigious piece - the Vlone x Nike Air Force 1. Limited to a very small amount of pairs, this shoe instantly sold out and exists as one of the most sought after piece amongst collectors. During this same time period, Vlone made its debut on the runway. Originally a streetwear clothing label, the brand had now made its way to Paris Fashion week where the most prestigious fashion houses in the world have their runway shows. During this fashion week, Bari created a handful of samples of the Nike x Vlone collab showcased on the runway.
However, in July 2017, Nike terminated the deal with ASAP Bari after a controversial incident in Paris involving Bari.
