MONCLER
Moncler is a French-founded Italian Luxury fashion house founded in 1952.
Moncler comes from the abbreviation of Monestier-de-Clermont, a mountain village near Grenoble. René Ramillon and Andrè Vincent founded the Company in 1952 which would specialize in winter outerwear. The brand reached a level of succes and status in the 1980's. However, the company was declining and on the verge of bankruptcy. In 2003 Italian businessman Remo Ruffini bought the company and moved it to Milan where he started a strategy of global expansion in the luxury goods segment. In 2013 the brand was listed on the Milan stock exchange within the first hours the price rose 47 % signaling Europe's greatest success story in years. Today Moncler is amongst the pinnacle of high fashion with a reported yearly turnover of 2 billion dollars.
